The good thing about summer is that a ton of new books come out – and our communities are near tons of public green space to enjoy them in. Do you know what else we have a lot of around our buildings? Libraries, where books are born. Wait, that’s not right. Anyway, here are some of our picks for summer.

The Winter Family – Clifford Jackman

This book is an old- timey western, set in the late 1800’s Oklahoma. it follows a group of bandits as they remain on the run and shrouded in secret for almost 40 years.

The Vorrh – Brian Cattling

This is a little um, violent to say the least. But if you’re aching to fill the “Game Of Thrones” sized fantasy void in your life we recommend picking this novel up. An English soldier, equipped with an unusual bow, enters a forest to the south of a colonial town where it is rumored that the Garden of Eden is at its centre.

Harper Lee – Go Set a Watchman

THE PREQUEL – 56 YEARS IN THE MAKING. Sorry our movie trailer voice got the better of us. This is considered to be a prelude to “To Kill A Mockingbird” – an essential piece of literature that you should have read in high school. hich means that regardless of the time between published novels, there must be some significant insight about the human condition contained in this novel. Might be best enjoyed with a mint julep on a hot day to really get into the mood.

Elon Musk – Inventing the Future

Who doesn’t want insight from, debatably, the smartest man in the world? This book runs the gamut from electric cars to exploring the applications of re-useable space travel. Elon Musk is the comic book character Tony Stark, brought to life. Find out what makes him tick and whether or not he has a flight capable, armoured battlesuit in his garage (like he’d tell you if he did).

My Fight / Your Fight – Ronda Rousey

UFC’s first female heavyweight champion discusses her dramatic and emotional rise to the top of a sport typically dominated by men.

What are your favourite beach reads?
