Context does Christmas: The Toronto Christmas Market

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – you don’t even want to know how long we’ve waited to sing that tune…

With December right around the corner, we’re all ready to enjoy the holidays and all that Toronto has to offer, starting with the much-anticipated Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market!

Our favourite Christmas market captures the true essence of Christmas: tradition, family, and tons of delicious food and unique gifts. Similar to the Christmas markets that pop up all over Europe, this Christmas Market is packed with vendors and family friendly entertainment.

The best part of the market is definitely the Beer Gardens where you have a handful of authentic holiday beverages to choose from including mulled wine, beer galore, and some European Christmas cocktails. For the more classy patrons, Wine Country Ontario also hosts a few sampling lounges!

There’s no doubt that the best crafters and artists in Ontario are at the Christmas Market. Along with them are vendors from all around the world selling their trinkets, baubles and novelty items.

Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market opens Friday, November 29th (!!!) and it’s on for two weeks until Sunday, December 15th. It’s a free event held at The Distillery Historic District, so definitely clear your schedule – do it for the Maple Leaf Fudge, er … children.

See you there!

PS: A quick little fact for our history buffs – Christmas markets originated in Germany in the early 1400s and are now held all around the world!
