It's always sunny at Library District

04 July 2013,   By ,

Ah July, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, Library District is rising, couldn’t ask for a better time. We’ve come a long way in a year and we can’t wait to show you what’s going on! But first, a look back to a year ago.

My my how time flies, eh? Feels like yesterday we were just a hole in the ground. Now we’re a 29 stories tall! That’s growing up way faster then most human babies, think about it.  anyway, onto the good stuff:

Lobby construction has finally begun and drywalling is in place. So that’s pretty neat. The amenities centre is closed off as well, but more on that later.

The lower floors have utilities, tiling and cabinitery in place already. not to mention all of the units have been drywalled, plastered and painted. kind of awesome, no?

A quick shot from the west side of the building, on a similar floor where the suites are partially completed.

Wow, on a great day this is one sweet view to have.

This unit is on the 7th and is still missing baseboards and framing around doors. But those are normally the last things to go into the units.

Here on the 8th floor we have tilers installing tiles in the units kitchen, entryway and bathroom areas.

A little further up on 12th, drywalling has begun on some units. Not this one clearly, But others like this one.

On the 22nd floor,  Framing and insulation has started and windows are installed.

Gotta admit, this high up, that view is pretty great — despite the hazy skyline.

Up here on the 28th there is considerably um, less framing. But there’s still windows and gorgeous views!

Up on 29th we’re still a bit exposed, as windows haven’t even been installed yet.  It’s the times like this where you can snap some increaible views of the city.

Come on, Just look at how gorgeous fort york looks from up here.

Finally, for the first time in a year we were able to make it up to the Roof of Library District, it’s been a long time coming and kind of cool that from here on out, it’ll all be interior updates.

Library District is connected to the City of Toronto’s 100th public library, and is steps away from the national historic site of Fort York.
