Christmas shopping at the ToronTOpia pop up shop!

19 December 2013,   By ,

It’s almost Christmas – and by almost, we mean you have less than week to get finish your holiday shopping done and get it wrapped.

We know Christmas shopping is a little hard when you’ve got so much (spiked) apple cider to drink, and all those Christmas movies to watch but we put together a list of things you can grab on your lunch break or this weekend. And the best part? They’re perfect for anyone who loves Toronto – so basically everyone on your list.

We hit up the ToronTOpia pop up shop (a collaboration between Coach House Books, Spacing Magazine, and the Toronto Arts Council) on Queen and Portland and pretty much finished all our Christmas shopping in the span of an hour.

These buttons are perfect for anyone who travels along the subway line, we picked up too many to count because everyone we know lives or works near the subway line.

Love these Toront0-shaped wooden coasters. If you’re invited to a holiday party and have no clue what to get the host, get ’em these! (A bottle of wine would also work …)

Neighbourhood toques! We’ve tweeted about them in the past but didn’t really have the chance to grab one until now. They have plenty of neighbourhoods to choose from but they’re selling out fast!

You can pretty much map out the subway line on your fridge with these bad boys. We picked up a few of these  – and there are also Rob Ford themed ones but we must’ve gotten too excited and forgot to take the pic (hey, it IS the week before Christmas, after all).

You know how we feel about books – they make the perfect gift, always. Whether it’s for someone in your life who loves cooking, watching hockey or just good literature – you can bet there’s a book for them! We picked up All My Friends are Superheroes by Andrew Kaufman because a) we love books set in Canada and b) we love superheroes!

This is what we want for Christmas (amongst other things): a print of a future, post-apocalyptic Toronto.

Hope that helps you with your shopping! Happy holidays!
