Library District December Construction Update

24 December 2013,   By ,

So, bear with us as we try to stuff this metaphorical stocking with as many present puns as possible but boy, do we have the perfect gift for you. Well, it looks like the exterior of Library district is all wrapped up with a pretty little bow, while the interior is a great mystery for everyone but a few. Luckily, we knew just what you wanted and here it is! A Library District construction update! Hope it fits, because we forgot to get a gift receipt.

Here it is!  The building is now fully closed off, with the exception of the construction elevator, which we’ll get out of the way once the actual elevators are installed in the new year.

Wow, that’s high up. Also note that all of the balconies are fully installed too.

Up until this point, this construction update has been a little, well, grey. Not to worry, because we have an EXCLUSIVE sneak peek of the new Sales centre going in on the main floor of Library Disctrict. Look at all of that orange. wow. Much colour, so bright, very paint.

Anyway, on to the units,  the first 10 floors are now sealed off for cleaning and finishing. We managed to get a peek in a few units before they were all closed off before cleaning.

Once it’s been cleaned, the units are closed off and ready for PDO.

Naturally, the upper floors are still undergoing various states of construction at the moment. So instead of boring you pictures of concrete, framing,  cabinets etc. We’ll give you want you want to see – gorgeous views from the units on the higher floors!

Looking out to the east, through Cityplace and onto the Rogers Centre and CN Tower. It’s too bad we can’t see Ripley’s!

Just to the northeast is where all of the cool kids hang out.

The inner harbour looks almost frozen, if only we could go out and skate on it…

What? How did this get in here? Well anyway, here’s some cabinets from the 24th floor. They’re very cabinet-y.

Finally, the view from the top! It was such a clear day you could see all of the way into Mississauga. That’s all for this update. On behlaf of everyone at context we’d like to wish you a Happy Holiday season and all of the best in the new year, here’s to 2014!

Library District is connected to the City of Toronto’s 100th public library, and is steps away from the national historic site of Fort York.
