Library district

Hello hello from Library District!  Since we last saw each other, it was around the end of the fake apocalypse and the 11th floor was being poured. Since then, we’ve gained 3 floors, Windows, and the beginning of framing is underway on the lower floors.  Follow past the jump for more!

The ground floor is well underway.

On the second floor, windows are in, piping is underway and  it’s nice and warm. Not like those freezing cold floors up top.

Workers are installing framing tracking on the floors. This is where we begin to build out walls and section off the different rooms in the unit. Cool eh?

Up to the third floor we have the beginning of the ventilation and ductwork system.

Hello Fort York! It’s increasingly hard to NOT take pictures of the view from Library District.

Uhh, it’s supposed to look like this, we swear.

Piping is installed all the way up to the 6th. But because the windows haven’t caught up yet, it’s mighty cold up here!

Yes, we are building in Toronto, and with that comes the hazards of snow getting into the floors that aren’t windowed off yet.

Remember what we said about the view? Wow.

Lego blocks? Not quite.

The crane is moored on the 6th floor currently, as it’s making it’s way up the tower pretty quickly.

We’ve talked a lot about the view to the west, well, here’s the view to the east, we’re actually trying to see if we can see Market Wharf!

Surveying to the north.

Our lovely lovely concrete ribbon, wrapping the city in love.

The heater fan is not on up here unfortunately, but the image looks kind of neat, right?

Why so serious? Look at how much progress we’ve made!

The crane lifts the concrete holders to build the walls for the 15th floor!

And that’s it for this month!  We’ll leave you with this beautiful image. Can’t wait until our next update, Library District is always a blast to visit!

Library District is connected to the City of Toronto’s 100th public library, and is steps away from the national historic site of Fort York.
