What’s New at Yorkdale

26 October 2016,   By ,

There’s always something new going at Yorkdale. Whether it’s a new store, a new event, or an entire new wing! The retail masterminds behind Canada’s top-selling centre are doing all that they can to pry people away from their computer screens, and give them fabulous reasons to hit the mall. This past week Yorkdale unveiled the biggest retail expansion in the GTA this year, and gave the brick-and-mortar retail experience a much-deserved win.

What exactly was unveiled this past week? A 300,000 square foot, $331 million expansion to be precise. Within this expansion you’ll find a 112,000 square foot corridor, which is now home to some of the finest luxury labels and must-have brands on the market. Over 20 new stores were opened, including the Japanese retailers Torontonians are already obsessed with – Muji and Uniqlo, as well as Canada Goose’s first flagship store, a giant, macaron filled Nadege, and a 3-level, 188,000 square foot Nordstrom. Here are the other new stores you’ll find at Yorkdale:

  • Mackage
  • Arc’teryx
  • Maison Birks
  • The Face Shop
  • Lululemon
  • Mendocino
  • NYX Cosmetics
  • Oak + Fort
  • Pandora
  • Reiss
  • Saje Natural Wellness
  • Samsung
  • Spareparts
  • Strellson
  • Williams Sonoma
  • Wolford

A new partnership between Yorkdale and the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA) was also struck up this week. The luxury centre not only hosted fashion shows for Canadian labels, but also opened a 3,000 square foot pop-up space, called FashionCAN. The space will feature both well-known and emerging Canadian brands, such as Pink Tartan and Greta Constantine.

With announcements that the shopping centre will open a Sandro and Warby Parker in the coming year, Yorkdale is clearly putting that extra effort in to attract those interested in a world-class shopping experience and beyond.
